Amazon Ecuador

SACHA LODGE

We had the amazing opportunity to travel to Sacha Lodge in Ecuador. We spent 4 Days exploring the jungle. It was a life changing experience and we're ready to go back.
Heading onto the chocolate waters of the Napo River for a two hour ride down stream.
Coca

Canoe ride across a lake to Sacha Lodge.

Day 1 our amazing guide Fausto found us a young Anaconda in La Selva

Just a baby... about 9 feet

Mallori goes in for a touch.

Clouds roll in over the Amazon
 Common Squirrel Monkey

 Happy Campers

 Leaf Cutter Ants
 The elusive jungle Owl

Poison dart frog. One frog this size has enough poison to kill 10 grown men.
 Howler Monkey

 Cayman Alligator
Parrots come from all over the jungle to like the minerals in the clay walls. It allows them to balance the PH of their stomachs from all the nuts they eat.

We visited a local village to see tradition life, dances and how these people have lived in the amazon for thousands of years.

Our indigenous guide Carlos. Master of the Jungle
 Cracking Cocoa Nuts
Live jungle snacks (Larva!). Our guide took us to his friends farm where we were able to sample a true delicacy of the jungle. They really weren't too bad! Quiet tasty actually.
Mallori is a vegetarian. But she ate one! BBQ-ed of course!
Just a bit of salt and we're good to go!
